How Is Your Vision Board Reflecting Your Personal Growth
We’re a month into 2019, how are those goals coming along that you set? Did you make a vision board? Let me guess your vision board consisted of goals related to love, finances, travel, and health. Am I right? Don’t get me wrong those are all amazing goals to have especially if you can stick to them but, I find those things tend to be goals for people looking at you from the outside not necessary who you are on the inside.
This year I made a vision board of personal growth goals that I want to work on to be a better me. I always say the only person you have to be better than, is who you were yesterday but, how does one practice that? The first thing you have to do is be honest with yourself. Recognizing all the amazing qualities that you have and acknowledge your areas of improvement.
So here’s exactly what I did. Instead of using a cardboard to place everything on (feel free to use whatever you have) I took an old picture frame (one of the ones that holds like 21 pictures) and wrote on the note cards I am_____ stating the good qualities I already have for example “I am funny”. Then I put Be ______ stating the areas where I need improvement like “Be empathetic”. I found through this process it was easier to think of the things I need to improve on and, very hard to talk about the positive character traits I already have. I think it’s just human nature to receive criticism rather than compliments.
I placed the picture frame right next to my mirror so in the morning when I get dressed I could look at it and, look at myself and say all the things on the notecards out loud. It has become apart my morning routine and, is making me conscious of those things I want to improve on and just give me that extra confidence boost I need each day. We should all aspire to move into a place of inner peace that no matter what anyone says they cannot shake you. You know who you are and, who you are not so, don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. So I encourage you to make a personal growth vision board and have the conversation with yourself.
